Yahoo! co-founder Yang to leave company

Yahoo! announced the resignation of co-founder Jerry Yang from the company. Yang is leaving the board of directors as well as his positions on the boards of Yahoo Japan and Alibaba. Yang said "the time has come for me to pursue other interests outside of Yahoo!". After co-founding Yahoo! in 1995 with David Fil, Yang served as a member of the board from March 1995 and as CEO from June 2007 to January 2009. His resignation follows the recent appointment of Scott Thompson as Yahoo's new CEO. Yahoo is currently undergoing a strategic review of its operations, which could lead to the sale of some activities.
