Yahoo! to buy ad specialist Interclick for USD 270 mln
Yahoo! announced an agreement to acquire Interclick, a US-based provider of data services to optimise online advertising. Interclick's proprietary advertising platform helps advertisers improve targeted services and optimize returns across a variety of pooled premium supply sources. Interclick has built a data valuation platform optimized to work with large data volumes across multiple providers and marketplaces. With Interclick, Yahoo! will acquire data targeting capabilities, optimization technologies and new premium supply, as well as a team experienced in selling audiences across disparate sources of pooled supply. Interclick's tools include the Open Segment Manager and its Genome Platform, which help enhance audience targeting through integration with leading data providers. Yahoo! is offering USD 9 cash per share for the company, for a total equity value of USD 270 million. The offer, supported by Interclick management, is expected to close by early 2012.
