GNM-IX passes 700 connected ASNs, 10.7 Tbps in peak traffic

The Dutch backbone provider GNM announced it has reached over 700 providers (ASNs) connected to its internet exchange, up from over 650 reported in September. As a result peak traffic on GNM-IX has grown to 10.7 Tbps. GNM-IX operates across Europe as an interconnection platform, with over 80 active locations supporting both regional and global peering.

Fastweb+Vodafone, the operator created just over a year ago following the acquisition of Vodafone Italia by Fastweb owner Swisscom, remained Italy's mobile market leader in the third quarter of 2025, according to the latest report from communications regulator Agcom. Thai operator True reports it has successfully defended its position in a long-standing dispute with National Telecom (NT) regarding interconnection charge revenue. Netflix forecasts slower revenue growth in 2026 after over 17% growth in Q4

Netflix has met its forecasts for growth in 2025, ending the year with over 325 million paid subscribers. Annual revenues rose 15.8 percent to USD 45.2 billion, and the operating margin was up 2.8 percent points to 29.5 percent. In the new year, the company forecast slightly slower revenue growth, at 12-14 percent, due to more subscribers as well as an expected doubling in advertising revenue, and the margin should improve further to around 31.5 percent.

South Korea's three mobile network operators, SK Telecom (SKT), Korea Telecom (KT) and LG Uplus, have moved iPhone-based Rich Communication Services (RCS) business messaging from beta to full commercial service, following several months of testing and optimisation. RCS allows longer text messages and the transmission of high-quality images and files compared with SMS and MMS. While RCS had previously been supported only on Android devices in Korea, Apple enabled RCS support on iOS from last year.

South Korea's broadcast industry recorded a second consecutive year of revenue decline in 2024, according to the latest Broadcasting Industry Survey released by the Korea Media and Communications Commission (KMCC). AT&T Business has added Inseego's Wavemaker FX4200 to its portfolio of fixed wireless access (FWA) devices for business customers, expanding its range of 5G-capable connectivity options. The device is available from 20 January and is intended for use with AT&T Internet Air for Business services, which are sold separately.
