Neterra launches hybrid internet, backup connectivity services for businesses

Neterra has introduced two new internet services for enterprises – primary business internet and a backup connection. These services are designed for companies that cannot afford any downtime, Neterra said. The services integrate multiple technologies, including fibre optic networks, 5G, and satellite connectivity via Starlink. Neterra claims that, if one technology fails, the connection automatically switches to another, ensuring continuous connectivity.

BMIT revenue jumps nearly 9% to EUR 36 million in 2025

BMIT Technologies, a subsidiary of Maltese mobile opeartor Go, posted record revenue of EUR 36.5 million for the year ended 31 December 2025, which represents a growth of 8.7 percent year-on-year. The company's EBITDA amounted to EUR 12 million, while profit before tax reached EUR 6.3 million, with earnings per share of EUR 0.02.

BeCloud data centre gets PCI DSS security certificate

Belarusian state-owned infrastructure operator beCloud announced that its data centre has completed an audit for the PCI DSS standard (Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard). The certification audit was conducted in the "physical security" category and confirmed full compliance of the practices, documented procedures, and technical means used in the integrated security system of the data centre with the requirements of the standard.

Beeline Russia starts Sim sales at Lenta and Monetka outlets

Russian operator Beeline has started sales of its SIMs at hypermarket chaom Lenta, as well as in shops of the retail chain Monetka, reports Mforum.ru. SIMs are available in starter packages. The packages are offered in 270 hypermarkets and 373 supermarkets of the Lenta chain across the country, as well as Monetka shops, which are mainly concentrated in the city of Yekaterinburg, as well as in the Yugra, Perm, Chelyabinsk and Tyumen region.

Glasdraad on track for 140,000 homes passed

The Dutch FTTH operator Glasdraad is on its way to reaching 140,000 homes passed with its network, following successful demand aggregation campaigns in 2025. The roll-out is progressing in several areas in Zeeland, reaching around 20,000 new addresses compared to the end of 2024, according to the annual report of its shareholder Tinc.

Swiss public broadcaster reshuffles executive management

The Swiss broadcasting corporation SRG SSR has reshuffled its executive management. It has appointed Roger Elsener as the new Director of the Swiss Radio and TV (SFR) unit. Elsener joins the public broadcaster from streaming platform Zattoo where he was CEO. The public broadcaster has also appointed Nicolas Pernet as Director of the new "Offer" unit and Moritz Stadler as Director of Operations. The trio will serve on the new SRG Executive Board.

CERT Poland, the Computer Emergency Response Team at the national telecom institute NASK PIB, blocked 140 million attempts to access harmful websites in 2025. Polish operator Polkomtel, trading under the Plus brand, has started sales of the Samsung Galaxy S26 smartphones in its shops. The Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra 5G 12/256GB costs PLN 6,499, and the 12/512GB version is available for PLN 6,949. The Samsung Galaxy S26+ 12/256 GB costs PLN 5,599, and the 12/512GB version is offered for PLN 6,049, while the Galaxy S26 12/256 GB model is priced at PLN 4,499 and sells for PLN 4,949 for the 12/512 GB version.

Zattoo names interim CEO after Rodriguez joins Swiss public broadcaster

TV streaming provider Zattoo has appointed Tina Rodriguez as interim chief executive officer from 01 April. Rodriguez joined Zattoo from Liberty Global as its chief consumer officer in January. She now succeeds Roger Elsener, who is leaving the company to take up the position of director of the Swiss public broadcaster SRF. Elsener takes over from Nathalie Wappler, who announced her departure a year ago and leaves SRF at the end of April.

Russia loses Express-AT1 satellite

Russian telecommunictions satellite Express-AT1, located at 56 degrees East, stopped working unexpectedly, reports Kommersant. Efforts at the state-owned satellite operator RSCC and the vendor Reshetnev to restore its functions have been unsuccessful. The launch of its replacement is not planned until 2030 when the satellite was expected to reach the end of its serviceable life.

Charter Communications is expanding its sales agreement with RingCentral to offer more of the latter's communications products to its Spectrum Business customers. This includes RingCentral's RingCX for omnichannel contact centre services and its AI Conversation Expert (ACE) for advanced conversation intelligence. The products are marketed as 'Unified Customer Experience (UCX) with RingCentral' and add to the existing Spectrum offering of unified communications products from RingCentral.

Gray Media blocks local stations from Dish TV line-up

EchoStar announced that 226 channels in 113 markets are currently unavailable to Dish pay-TV customers after a decision by Gray Media to back out its local stations from the Dish TV line-up. EchoStar said Gray Media decided to disconnect the stations after Dish declined to accept "unreasonable rate increases" that would have resulted in higher monthly fees for customers. The disconnected stations provide local news, sports and weather to millions of customers.

CloudCoCo announces equity fundraising to fund new growth strategy

CloudCoCo, UK managed IT solutions provider, has announced plans to raise around GBP 0.275 million from an equity fundraising, along with a planned capital reorganisation to amend the nominal value of its existing ordinary shares. The plans are subject to shareholder approval at a general meeting on 27 March.

UK govt launches new Online Crime Centre to tackle international criminals

The UK government has announced the launch of a new online crime squad to tackle organised online crime gangs. The new Online Crime Centre, launching in April, will combine specialists from the police, government, mobile networks, banks, tech firms and intelligence agencies for co-ordinated action against fraud. It is part of the government's new GBP 250 million, 3-year fraud strategy (2026-2029).

Mediaset to air select F1 and MotoGP races on FTA in Spain

Commercial broadcaster Mediaset has reached a sublicensing agreement with rights holder Dazn to air several MotoGP and F1 races on its FTA channels in Spain. The deal includes the Spanish Grand Prix held on 12-14 June at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya as well as the inaugural Madrid Grand Prix taking place in the Spanish capital on 11-13 September.

Proximus board member Cecile Coune proposed as new chair

Proximus has proposed Cecile Coune as its new chairperson, succeeding Stefaan De Clerck from the annual shareholders meeting 15 April. Appointed by the Belgian state as Proximus' largest shareholder, Coune is already a board member at the company since 2023. Pending formal approval by shareholders and the board, she will be the first woman to chair the Proximus board.

Rosenberger OSI launches VSFF multi-fibre connector

Rosenberger OSI has announced the launch of its miniature multifibre fibre cabling connector (MMC) tailored to high-density fibre wiring including FTTH, 5G and data centre use cases. Rosenberger OSI's MMC connector provides a very small form factor (VSFF) that is even smaller than established products such as MPO-style connectors. This should allow more fibres to fit into each panel surface, while a push-pull mechanism helps achieve secure locking and unlocking even at maximum port density.

Globe Teleservices has partnered with Myanma Posts and Telecommunications (MPT) to manage and secure Application-to-Person (A2P) messaging for its subscribers. Under this agreement, Globe Teleservices will implement firewall and monetization services to provide MPT with upgraded oversight and control over its messaging traffic.

RTL's Goossens takes over as head of Luxembourg operations

RTL Group said Christophe Goossens, current chief executive of RTL Luxembourg and Broadcasting Center Europe (BCE), has assumed broader duties as Head of Luxembourg Operations. The expanded role adds oversight of European News Exchange (Enex) and Media Real Estate (MRE) to his current responsibilities, with both units' managing directors now reporting directly to him. Goossens will continue to report to RTL Group CEO Thomas Rabe.

UK regulator Ofcom is consulting on plans to apply electronic communications code powers to London Fibre Group. The consultation closes on 13 April 2026. London Fibre Group is seeking code powers to support the design, deployment and operation of passive communications infrastructure, including dark fibre and shared duct infrastructure. This will be made available to other communications providers to expand their networks across the UK.

Google completes Wiz acquisition

Google said it has completed its acquisition of cloud and artificial intelligence security platform Wiz for USD 32 billion, announced nearly a year ago. Wiz will join Google Cloud and maintain its brand and commitment to securing customers across all cloud environments. Wiz products remain available on major clouds including Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud Platform, Microsoft Azure and Oracle Cloud, and will be offered through an array of partner security products.
