Eyeo redefines imaging with advanced nanophotonic color-splitting technology at the Netherlands Pavilion during MWC Barcelona 2026

Eindhoven-based eyeo is pioneering a new era in imaging technology, reshaping the way cameras perceive light. By introducing the world’s first nanophotonic color-splitting technology, the company enables image sensors to capture 100% of incoming light — overcoming the decades-old limitations of color filters that waste up to 70% of available photons.

Rather than filtering light, eyeo’s patented nanophotonic structures guide individual wavelengths directly to the right pixels, achieving full light sensitivity and true-to-life color fidelity even in extreme low-light conditions. This innovation not only enhances clarity and detail but also enables sub-0.5-micron pixels, making cameras smaller, more efficient, and more powerful. The technology integrates seamlessly with existing CMOS sensor platforms, allowing for rapid adoption across multiple industries.

Driving the next evolution in visual intelligence

Eyeo’s breakthrough unlocks major advancements for extended reality (XR), industrial automation, security monitoring, and mobile imaging, where precision, size, and power efficiency are key. By maximizing the use of light, eyeo is driving the next evolution in visual intelligence, from ultra-compact sensors in wearables and autonomous devices to the smart cameras powering tomorrow’s connected ecosystems.

Backed by a €15 million seed round, eyeo is now accelerating its roadmap toward large-scale production and strategic partnerships. At MWC Barcelona 2026, the company aims to connect with mobile OEMs, investors, and imaging technology experts worldwide to further its mission of giving cameras "perfect eyesight."

"We see a future where every photon counts," said Jeroen Hoet, Co-founder and CEO of eyeo. "By guiding light instead of filtering it, we’re enabling a new generation of compact, energy-efficient imaging systems that redefine what cameras can do."
