Onze.nl's AI now listens to both sides of the call

Four months after launching as a self-described “AI-native” mobile provider, the Dutch start-up Onze.nl is expanding its call summaries and opening them to business customers. Until now, post-call summaries were based only on what the subscriber said. From today, the service also captures the other person’s side of the conversation, and the feature is open to businesses of all sizes. After each call, subscribers receive a summary and a full transcript by email. Whether a doctor moves an appointment, a client asks for a quote or a contractor names a price, it ends up in the summary. Users can look up what was agreed without taking notes.

A memory aid

The company is also positioning the service as support for people who struggle to retain conversations because of illness, age or concentration problems. That includes people with early-stage dementia, brain injuries, ADHD, or the memory and concentration difficulties linked to long COVID. Onze.nl cites Alzheimer Nederland, which counts around 320,000 people living with dementia in the Netherlands, a number projected to pass 600,000 by 2050.

“You should be able to have a phone conversation without having to write everything down,” founder and CEO Sibbe Jan Noppert said. If illness or age makes remembering harder, he added, people should be able to check what their doctor or a family member said.

On privacy, the company says use of Onze AI is optional, that subscribers can switch it off for individual calls, and that conversations are processed within the EU.

Fraud warnings coming in November

In November, Onze.nl plans to add a feature that flags possible fraud during calls, such as a caller posing as a bank employee asking for a PIN, or a supposed police officer offering to collect a bank card. Helpdesk fraud was the most reported type of fraud among individuals at the Dutch Fraudehelpdesk in 2025, with more than 17,000 reports, almost double the 2024 figure.

From launch to expansion

The expansion follows the plan Noppert outlined at launch. Onze.nl presented itself then as the world’s first AI-native telecom provider. It is a sim-only MVNO, working mainly through eSIMs on Odido’s network.

At launch, the company said it integrates Anthropic’s AI assistant Claude and that its “Slim bellen” (smart calling) feature would start with the subscriber’s own voice, with both sides of the call following within three months, in line with privacy and GDPR rules. Today’s announcement delivers that. Noppert also described an assistant users can call on mid-conversation to update calendars, draft emails, or prepare and send quotes, with further AI applications planned. Onze.nl joined Nvidia’s Inception Program in early 2026.

Onze.nl is an Amsterdam-based mobile provider that uses AI in an accessible way to help its subscribers. Its Onze AI service emails subscribers a summary and full transcript after a phone call. Onze.nl supports both physical SIM cards and eSIMs.
