Radarxense Contributes to 6G JCAS Development at Mobile World Congress Barcelona

Radarxense, a specialist in energy-efficient radar-based traffic monitoring solutions, will participate in the Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona as part of its involvement in the FNS 6G Consortium. The company plays an active role in supporting the development of future 6G Joint Communication and Sensing (JCAS) applications by providing high-accuracy ground truth measurement data for validation purposes.

6G is expected to go beyond communication by enabling base stations to sense and interpret their physical environment. This emerging concept, known as JCAS (Joint Communication and Sensing), will allow telecom infrastructure to detect objects and movement in real time. Within the FNS 6G program, Radarxense systems are currently being used to generate reliable ground truth data to validate and benchmark these future sensing capabilities.

The next phase

By combining high-precision radar hardware with advanced detection algorithms, Radarxense provides the reference measurements necessary to train and verify 6G sensing models. In a next phase, the company aims to further develop and adapt its algorithms for integration into the future 6G Eco system, allowing todetect and classify traffic flows by use of JCAS (joint communication and sensing).

Radarxense’s participation at MWC has been made possible through winning the TP Innovation Award in 2025, recognizing the company’s contribution to technological innovation and enabling international exposure at the world’s leading connectivity event.

"At Radarxense, we see 6G not only as a communication upgrade, but as a sensing revolution," said Olaf Biezeman, CEO at Radarxense. "By providing validated reference measurements today, we contribute to making reliable JCAS-based traffic detection possible in the future. MWC is the ideal platform to connect with telecom operators, traffic integrators and smart city partners who want to shape that future."

While the company has an established presence in the Netherlands, its ambitions extend far beyond national borders. At MWC, Radarxense is actively seeking international collaborations with telecom operators, traffic technology integrators, and smart city stakeholders interested in next-generation sensing applications and data-driven mobility solutions.

Radarxense will be present in the Netherlands Pavilion Booth CS54 during MWC Barcelona from 2–6 March 2026 or contact the company directly to schedule a meeting during MWC.
