AT&T Business offers 30-Day Risk Free service nationwide

AT&T Business has expanded availability of its 30-Day Risk Free scheme to include AT&T Business Fiber and AT&T Business wireless service for smartphones. This allows businesses to test services and get a full refund if they cancel in the first month. The 30-Day Risk Free service is already offered to AT&T Internet Air customers. The offer is available to new and existing business customers nationwide with a new CRU voice line.

US ChatGPT users want GenAI tools bundled with mobile, broadband - Bango

New research from subscription bundling platform provider Bango shows that three quarters (74%) of US consumers paying for GenAI services want them to be bundled directly with their mobile phone plan. The survey of 1,400 US ChatGPT users also shows demand for AI-inclusive telco bundles reaching beyond mobile - with a further 71 percent of paid AI users wanting AI included with a home broadband or TV plan; and 77 percent wanting GenAI tools bundled with streaming services.

Charter Communications subsidiary Spectrum has announced plans to award Spectrum Digital Education Grants worth USD 1 billion in 2026. French operator Bouygues Telecom announced the forthcoming launch of Extra Bbox in its 5G Box portfolio, priced at EUR 12.99/month with no minimum contract period. This new service targets fixed broadband households seeking a secondary back‑up connection over 4G/5G, which becomes instantly available when the primary connection fails. It includes a 100 GB data allowance and can also be purchased by customers whose primary connection is with a provider other than Bouygues.

Southeast Europe telecom and media company United Group has refinanced EUR 1.5 billion in bonds, saying it has significantly improved its financial health and flexibility as a result. The refinancing included the issuance of EUR 1.13 billion in new floating-rate notes due in 2033 and EUR 355 million in new PIYC PIK notes due in 2031. German operator Tele Columbus appointed Christoph Luethe as the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Chairman of the Board of Management, effective 01 April. Realme will begin Indian sales of its P4 Power 5G smartphone on 29 January. Available in three colour options - Orange, Silver, and Blue - the phone contains a 10,001 mAh battery claimed to deliver up to 32.5 hours of video streaming on a single charge, with support for fast wired charging and reverse charging up to 27 watts. The display uses Realme's 144 Hz HyperGlow 4D Curve+ technology, which is capable of 1.5K resolutions.

EU proposes 3-year deadline to remove high-risk suppliers from mobile networks

The European Commission has proposed an update of the EU's Cybersecurity Act from 2019. The draft legislation includes tighter controls in the ICT sector to forbid the use of equipment from suppliers deemed to pose a high security risk. If the new rules are approved, mobile operators would have three years to remove the risky suppliers from their networks, and additional deadlines would follow for fixed and satellite operators.

UK fibre broadband provider Toob has been ranked in The Sunday Times 100 Tech, a list of the fastest-growing private technology companies in the UK, for the second year in a row. It has come 9th place overall in the 2026 hardware listing. CEO and founder Nick Parbutt said the achievement reflected Toob's rapid growth, hard-working team and strong customer base. The company has over 100,000 customers across England and Scotland.

3 UK looks to boost workplace wellbeing with 'Tea Leave' initiative

More than one third (35%) of UK workers rarely leave their office during the working day; with almost half (49%) saying they only leave their desks for a toilet break, according to new research from 3 UK. To mark Brew Monday on 19 January, and to encourage workers to take a break, 3 UK is calling on businesses to support the 'Tea Leave' initiative. Brew Monday is an annual campaign from charity partner Samaritans to help Brits take wellbeing breaks and chat to people over a cup of tea.

CK Hutchison in talks to sell 3 Ireland to Liberty Global - report

Hong Kong-based CK Hutchison is in talks to sell mobile operator 3 Ireland to Liberty Global, reports the Financial Times. Liberty Global already operates an MVNO in Ireland called Virgin Mobile, and also has a broadband network through Virgin Media Ireland. CK Hutchison has been looking to offload its telecoms operations in Europe in the face of tough trading conditions. New Street Research estimates that 3 Ireland could be valued at up to EUR 1.5 billion.

Pakistan adds nearly 4 million mobile subscribers in December

Pakistan's mobile subscriber base jumped by more than 3.97 million users in December 2025. Pakistan had 200.55 million mobile subscribers at end-December 2025, versus 196.19 million users in November, according to a report from Pakistan Telecommunications Authority (PTA). Total teledensity, which includes cellular as well as FLL and WLL services, rose to 81.33 in December from 79.94 in the previous month.

IFX opens Tier IV data centre in Cali

Latin American telecom services provider IFX has officially opened a Tier IV data centre in Cali, Colombia, aimed at businesses that require high availability, low latency and continuous operation for critical workloads. Located in a free trade zone, the site targets regional demand for hosting applications such as real-time IoT, streaming, gaming, blockchain and cloud-based corporate services with direct connectivity to national carriers and two submarine cable routes.

Ooredoo unit Syntys acquires Q Data facilities in Qatar

Ooredoo Group has announced that its digital infrastructure arm Syntys has acquired Q Data QFZ, which operates hyperscale data centre facilities in Qatar serving cloud and AI customers, with 5 MW live capacity and 7.5 MW under development. The transaction transfers ownership of two Tier III certified, carrier neutral facilities within the Qatar Free Zones and brings Syntys' total live IT capacity in the country to 26 MW. The seller is Doha Venture Capital, a subsidiary of Qatar Free Zones Authority.

CityFibre has announced the availability of business broadband services across its nationwide FTTP network footprint of 4.5 million premises. The wholesale business products offer symmetrical speeds of up to 2.5 Gbps, allowing CityFibre's reseller partners to support the connectivity needs of small business, home workers and small or home office (SoHo) customers.

Orange Poland opens online shop for refurbished phones with Dipli

Orange Poland, in cooperation with the company Dipli, has opened its new online shop Orange Powered by Twice. The new shop sells refurbished smartphones from Apple, Samsung, Xiaomi and other vendors, all with a 24-month warranty. Dipli provides the technological and operational infrastructure for the Twice platform. It operates a pan-European platform for circular technology, supporting the buyback and resale of refurbished devices.

Beeline Kazakhstan expands pay-TV lineup

Beeline Kazakhstan, a subsidiary of the Veon Group, has expanded its pay-TV lineup with the channel History 2 HD, as well as Kazakhstan regional channel Aqtobe. The new channels are available to customers using its IPTV and BeeTV services.

Redmagic, a Nubia-owned Chinese brand specialised in gaming smartphones, has marked the commercial release of its latest Air series handset built for high-performance e-sports. The RedMagic 11 Air is said to raise the bar for mobile e-sports, combining cutting-edge performance with advanced cooling technology, immersive display graphics, and precision gaming controls. The agency Elite / Monday Lovers won the tender for the services after cooperating already with the O2 brand for a long time. The advertising agency is active for more than 15 years, with branches in Bratislava and Prague.

MTS to triple capacity of cross-border link with Belarus

Russian operator MTS said that it plans to raise the capacity of its cross-border link to Belarus at the city of Velikiye-Luki. The capacity will increase from 800 Gbps to over 2 Tbps. The operator first deployed the link in autumn 2025, based on DWDM 400G equipment. The increase in the capacity will make internet traffic transit more reliable.

Gilat receives USD 11 mln SkyEdge platform order from Asian satellite operator

Gilat Satellite Networks announced that its Commercial Division received a contract for approximately USD 11 million for its SkyEdge platform from a satellite operator in the Asia Pacific region. The platform will be deployed to deliver services over Very High Throughput Satellites (VHTS) supporting multiple applications. Deliveries are expected over the next twelve months.
