Vodafone Ireland plans 70% 5G SA network coverage by 2028

Vodafone Ireland pans to cover more than 70 percent of the country's population with its 5G Standalone (5G SA) network by 2028, starting 5G SA trials with public sector and business customers by end-2026. Announcing the plans at its Future Frontiers conference in Dublin, Vodafone Ireland said trials would start in Limerick and Shannon, before expanding to Dublin, Cork, Waterford and Galway in 2027.

German government prepares ban of Chinese network technology - report

The German Federal Ministry of the Interior is preparing to ban Chinese network technology, Handelsblatt reports. The ministry plans to review the list of critical infrastructure from the Federal Network Agency (Bundesnetzagentur or BNetzA). 6G mobile networks could generate a USD 1.24 trillion gain for the global economy in 2040, equivalent to 0.7 percent of global GDP, according to new GSMA research.
