UK rural broadband provider Voneus has announced the launch of the new 'TV by Voneus' service, powered by the Netgem Pleio streaming platform. Sky research highlights sports participation gap between girls, boys

New research from Sky, conducted by Public First, shows a wide gap in girls' sports participation across the UK compared to boys, ranging from 0-2.5 hours per week across all 650 UK Parliamentary constituencies. Nationally, the data shows that girls aged 11-18 years play on average 84 minutes less sport each week than boys. The biggest gaps are found in the West Midlands and North East; with girls living in cities and areas with less sports facilities facing the biggest barriers to getting involved in sport

GomSpace wins EUR 2 mln order from Unseenlabs for 2 more CubeSats

Denmark-based GomSpace has announced another contract with Unseenlabs to deliver two new CubeSats, expanding the service capacity of the current generation already in orbit. The contract value is EUR 2.2 million and the satellites are scheduled for delivery in 2027. They will be similar to the fourteen CubeSats ordered in 2022, 2024 and 2025.

Vodafone Spain said its cybersecurity services have protected enterprise clients from more than 20 million digital threats over the past twelve months. The Global mobile Suppliers Association (GSA) said it has elected Patrik Cerwall to succeed Joe Barrett as president from 01 January 2027. Swedish company Ovzon said it has received a renewal order worth SEK 74 million from a European NATO country's defence organisation. The order covers the satcom service based on Ovzon 3 for five months from 01 August and renews the agreement reached last December. The previous order included a significant share of mobile satellite terminals but the renewal covers satcom services only.

Polish FTTH coverage reaches 80% in H1

Just over 80 percent of Polish households were covered by FTTH networks at the end of June, according to national telecommunications regulator UKE. The highest penetration rates were in the Masovia region (89.9 percent) and the Opole region (86.9 percent), while the lowest fibre coverage was in the Pomerania region (61.7 percent), the Western Pomerania region (69.2 percent) and the Lubusz region (69.3 percent).
