Cable operators target SoHo segments
Cable operators are turning their attention to SoHo customers. The operators have been active in the business segment for several years. UPC Business focused on the midmarket and large companies, while important customers for Ziggo came from the smaller business segments. ZeelandNet (Delta) has a long history with the SME segment, but also with larger businesses as clients, which are becoming more important. CBizz (former CAIW Business) has strong relationships with large and small companies in its region. Still, cable operators' revenues from business customers have been minimal, despite growth in recent years. In the same period, the SoHo market has grown, and it is expected to expand even more strongly in the next ten years. This trend will be a great opportunity for the cable operators; thanks to the Eurodocsis 3.0 upgrade, they will be able to offer high-quality broadband to the SoHo segment.
