Cable TV network access regulations come too late
Recently the Dutch telecommunications regulator OPTA and the European Commission reached an agreement on regulations for the Dutch cable network market. The new regulations allow other service providers to gain access to cable networks for providing audio and video services. While a few years ago KPN and others were interested in cable network access, the regulations are now too late. KPN, Tele2 and other service providers have acquired, rolled out or upgraded their own networks for TV services, leaving little demand for using cable networks.
