Cegeka hires Accenture veteran as new CEO to lead international expansion

Belgian ICT services group Cegeka has named Koen Deryckere its new CEO from May. He replaces Stijn Bijnens, who left last year to become the Proximus CEO. Deryckere comes from Accenture, where he has worked over 25 years and most recently was CEO for France and the Benelux. Bart Watteeuw, who has served as interim CEO in recent months, becomes chief operating officer (COO) at Cegeka.

Cegeka to operate entirely on renewable energy from 2026

Belgian IT services provider Cegeka said it aims to operate entirely on its own self-generated renewable energy from 2026. This is part of a target to offer zero-carbon cloud services by 2030. As part of the plan, the company is investing in its own wind turbine in Tessenderlo and agreed a long-term contract with the Kristal Solar Park in Lommel. The projects should generate enough energy to power its data centres, offices and electric vehicles from next year, both in Belgium and the Netherlands.
