Fiberklaar roept overheden op glasvezeluitrol te steunen

In het kader van verkiezingsjaar 2024 roept Fiberklaar de verschillende overheden op om aan tafel te komen zitten voor een snelle uitrol van glasvezel in heel Vlaanderen. Het bedrijf wil in gezamenlijkheid stappen maken om de Belgische achterstand als het gaat om glasvezelbeschikbaarheid ten opzichte van de rest van Europa in te lopen.

Fiberklaar ziet ebitda verbetering, omzet nog minimaal in 2022

Fiberklaar heeft in 2022 een omzet van EUR 120 duizend behaald, terwijl de ebitda verbeterde van negatief EUR 15,9 miljoen in 2021 naar EUR 14,6 miljoen eind vorig jaar. Dit blijkt uit het jaarverslag over 2022 dat de joint venture tussen Proximus en Delta Fiber deponeerde bij Staatsblad. Het netto verlies voor 2022 bedroeg EUR 15,4 miljoen, 4,9 procent minder dan in 2021.

Orange Belgium calls for cooperation on fibre network roll-out, new wholesale regulations

Orange Belgium has called for operators to collaborate on passive fibre infrastructure, rather than duplicating the costs of roll-out. Following the recently completed takeover of cable operator Voo, Orange is looking to expand in the fibre market in Belgium. However, the operator is not content with the current wholesale access regulations, L'Echo reports.

Proximus files lawsuits against Telenet, Fluvius fibre joint venture plans

Belgian operator Proximus has filed several lawsuits against rival Telenet's plan to set up a FTTH network joint venture with Flemish utilities group Fluvius. According to a report from L'Echo, the company is contesting at the Council of State the legality of the decisions by ten entities making up Fluvius to approve the venture plans.

Bipt publishes draft decisions on Unifiber, Fiberklaar wholesale offers

Belgian regulator Bipt has published its draft decisions on the wholesale reference access offers from Unifiber and Fiberklaar. Both operators are joint ventures started by Proximus last year, to cover respectively Wallonia and Flanders with FTTH. The decisions are open for public comment until 01 February 2023 before becoming final.

Proximus FTTH network reaches 19% of Belgian homes passed

Belgian operator Proximus added 93,000 new homes passed to its FTTH network in the third quarter. This takes its total footprint to 1.12 million homes passed at the end of September. The network roll-out accelerated to an average 7,100 homes passed per week, an increase of 42 percent from the weekly rate in Q3 2021.

FTTH-netwerk Proximus bereikt 19% van de Belgische huishoudens

Proximus heeft in het derde kwartaal van 2022 in totaal 93.000 homes passed aan het totaal toegevoegd. Daarmee had het bedrijf per eind september 1,12 miljoen homes passed. Gedurende het derde kwartaal haalde het bedrijf een wekelijkse groei van zo'n 7.100 HP, een groei van 42 procent ten opzichte van de weekgroei in Q3 2021.

Fiberklaar prepares roll-out in Genk

Belgian operator Fiberklaar announced an agreement with the city of Genk on deploying its fibre network along streets. Contractor APK will conduct a physical survey for the project. In mid-November the operator will start an information campaign to sign up residents for a connection to the FTTP network.

Fiberklaar bereidt aanleg glasvezelnetwerk in Genk voor

Fiberklaar heeft in samenspraak met de stad Genk beslist om te onderzoeken of het in de straten van Genk een glasvezelnetwerk zal aanleggen. Het glasvezelbedrijf heeft aannemer APK in de arm genomen voor de uitvoering van het onderzoek.

ODF gaat 21.000 huishoudens in Venlo-Noord aansluiten op glasvezel

In Venlo-Noord krijgen 21.000 huishoudens toegang tot internet via glasvezel van Open Dutch Fiber (ODF). T-Mobile is daarbij de eerste aanbieder op het netwerk van ODF. Naar verwachting kunnen de eerste huishoudens in 2023 gebruikmaken van internet via glasvezel met up- en downloadsnelheden tot 1 Gbps. De werkzaamheden starten in oktober in de wijken Centrum, Venlo-Noord, Zuid, Oost en het Ven. Naar verwachting kunnen de eerste huishoudens in 2023 gebruik maken van glasvezel.

Bijna een op de vijf Belgische panden is aangesloten op glasvezel

Bijna een op de vijf panden in België is aangesloten op glasvezel. In de periode juni 2021 tot juni 2022 kregen 436.000 adressen toegang tot glasvezel (HP). In totaal zijn nu 1,1 miljoen huishoudens en kleine bedrijven aangesloten op FTTP (Fiber-to-the-Premise). Waarmee 19 procent van het land toegang heeft tot glasvezelbreedband, volgens het het meest recent rapport over FTTP in België. Ongeveer een vijfde van degenen met toegang tot FTTP heeft echter breedbanddiensten geactiveerd op het netwerk (HA), met

Belgian fibre market expands to nearly fifth of premises passed

Belgium is approaching a fifth of homes passed with fibre, after the network roll-out accelerated significantly in the past year. The country added 436,000 premises passed with fibre in the year to June 2022, taking the total footprint to 1.1 million homes and small businesses with access to FTTP, research by Telecompaper shows.
