Number portability and customer satisfaction in the Netherlands
A survey by Telecom.paper of 380 Dutch mobile users revealed that the average user is very satisfied with his network provider, although more than 44% switched operator at least once. More than 76% is positive about their provider. 18% of the customers that switched kept their mobile number. These users were satisfied about the number portability process. Since the start on portability, the number of ported numbers per year is increasing. In 2003 almost 352,000 mobile users switched from operator, an increase of 90% compared to 2002. Although customers that actual keep their number are pleased, the Dutch regulator OPTA still receive large number of complaints from people who want to port their number.
