
Vodafone entered the Dutch mobile market in September 1995 under the name Libertel, as the second mobile operator in the Netherlands using GSM technology. From 28 January 2002, Libertel Vodafone changed its name to Vodafone as part of a process initiated by the Vodafone Group. On 9 April 2003, Vodafone Group had 98.2 percent of Vodafone Netherlands shares and officially de-listed the company from the Amsterdam stock market. In Q4 2006, Vodafone acquired the minority interests in Vodafone Netherlands. At present Vodafone Group holds 100 percent of Vodafone Netherlands shares.
