Orange Spain adds BBC History, AMC channels to TV offer

Orange Spain has further enhanced its TV offer with the addition of the BBC History channel as well as two thematic channels from AMC. Subscribers can already access BBC History's catalogue of award-winning documentaries on dial 59 of Orange TV, with AMC Living and AMC Western to follow on dial nos. 76 and 38 on 10 February.

Telefonica to officially launch 10 Gbps XGS-PON fibre service on 15 Feb

Movistar Spain (Telefonica) will officially launch its XGS-PON fibre service at download speeds of up to 10 Gbps on 15 February, reports website Bandaancha. The move coincides with the end of Telefonica's obligation to provide access to its fibre networks at regulated prices throughout Spain.

Telefonica has inaugurated a new hub in Bilbao focused on advanced quantum technology research, naming it after the company's late vice chairman Javier Echenique, who died in 2024. Mobile operator TNM has announced its growth plans and long-term commitment to national development. GTD finalises sale of 49% of data centre unit to Peru's InfraCorp

Chilean telecommunications firm GTD has completed the sale of a 49 percent stake in its data centre subsidiary to InfraCorp, the infrastructure investment division of Peruvian industrial conglomerate Grupo Romero, for a total of USD 109.8 million. The deal, first announced in October, sees InfraCorp take a minority stake in the newly-formed GTData Holdco entity containing all 11 GTD data centres located in Chile, Peru and Colombia.
