The growing availability of 5G networks, new IoT applications and increased adoption of eSims should support new players and revenue opportunities in the virtual operator market, according to participants at Informa's latest MVNOs World Congress. Many expect MNOs to open up their 5G networks quicker to MVNOs than they did with 4G, while the eSim and IoT innovation should lead to new business cases where MVNOs can position themselves as agile, customer-friendly partners to enterprises.
