5G roundup: early services follow traditional path, but research points to big opportunities

The 5G market is following a fairly predictable development path in recent months. That's not to say there hasn't been some excitement too. We look here at some of the most important news in terms of 5G standards, technology innovation, auctions and network launches. Everything points to 5G as a technology for mobility and fixed-wireless access, but there are a wide range of trials underway to develop new applications.
