America Movil bid prospectus raises more questions over KPN bid

KPN has rejected the takeover bid from America Movil, and the question is now what the Dutch operator plans to do. Since the announcement in 2011 of its plans for the period to 2015 (Strengthen, Simplify, Grow), the company has issued a number of warnings, for lower results, no dividends, a rights issue and the departure of CFOs. CEO Eelco Blok will now want to show how KPN can achieve its goals on its own, although this will not be easy given the current level of competition. Its rival Ziggo showed already record growth on the broadband market in the third quarter, driven by nearly doubling
