Apple, Samsung and Google greatly expanded their mobile payment reach in 2016

The year of 2016 has seen some big steps taken in the field of mobile payment, most notably because the mobile payment systems of the three tech giants (Apple, Samsung, Google) were introduced in many more countries. With the mobile phone becoming the preferred device for all types of transactions, mobile payments could finally become more entrenched in the Western world. However, it is more likely it will only properly take off once the current youngsters grow up and start spending more.
