Austrian mobile price increases not (yet) visible in mobile revenues

Monday 27 October 2014 | 17:05 CET | Author: Kamiel Albrecht | Background
The Austrian mobile market decreased in terms of service revenues and customers, to end the second quarter of 2014 with 13.13 million customers and EUR 582 million in service revenues. Compared with the same period last year, the customer base shrunk 0.5 percent year-on-year and the service revenues decreased by 5.8 percent. The decrease in service revenue is mostly due to the lingering effect of the MTA reduction in November 2013. The operators have been increasing their mobile tariffs to compensate for the revenue loss, but these increases have not led to any positive effects yet.
