Belgian mobile market stays below 100% penetration after Q4 contraction

The Belgian mobile market remained depressed in the last quarter of 2016, showing no real signs of improvement, according to the latest analysis by Telecompaper. Mobile service revenues declined, the total customer base decreased, and so the blended ARPU for the market did too. The prepaid registration requirement is having a negative impact on the prepaid share. However, the ongoing focus on multiple-play packages continues to drive postpaid uptake. Although the recent price increases indicate no immediate fear of a price war, the competition between the three operators will remain intense,
