BeLux telecom market Q1: 2 stable players and 2 in transition

Proximus and Telenet are the dominant operators in the Belgian market. While the market is characterised by two integrated operators, Telenet does not have full national network coverage. This opens up an interesting opportunity for Orange, which after a long wait has finally launched on the fixed market using open cable access. It's promoting itself as the biggest cable operator, with an expected reach of 4.7 million households by the end of this year. This includes the networks of Telenet (2.9 mln), Voo (1.6 mln) and SFR (0.2 mln). There are also satellite TV providers and various virtual
