BT bid for O2 shows Wi-Fi not enough

BT has confirmed it's in talks to buy a mobile network operator, almost ten years after it exited the mobile business. The company said it was talking to O2, owned by Telefonica, and one other unnamed operator, thought to be EE. The latter's owners Deutsche Telekom and Orange have hinted repeatedly that they do not plan on being long-term shareholders in the venture.
