Dutch plans for analogue cable resale may never happen

An obligation for Dutch cable operators to resell analogue cable TV is part of the Dutch Media Law since 1 January 2013, but to date no alternative operator has taken up the offer, despite Tele2 and Youca showing some interest. The second-largest cable operator in the Netherlands, UPC has said that talks are ongoing. Reasons for the delay include the court appeal brought by Ziggo, UPC and the third-largest cable operator Delta against the law, and the opposition expressed by the European Commission over how the government implemented the obligation.
