EU roaming price cuts put operator results under pressure in Q2

August means holidays, but also the quarterly results season, and the two are both key indicators in the development of the EU roaming market. The latest financial results from EU operators show many were suffering already in May and June from reduced roaming revenues, after the latest changes to EU regulation took effect on 30 April. While the European Commission is working on also lowering wholesale roaming prices in order to help offset the impact, its efforts may be too slow to prevent operators from raising prices elsewhere.
