European smart home industry sees boost from growing smart speaker take-up

More and more manufacturers are adding IoT connectivity to their products, allowing products to be monitored for the first time, such as garage doors, shutters, windows and door bells. The monitoring of these products, especially when combined with video access, forms a new area of smart home security services. However, many manufacturers are hoping to earn money themselves from these new options and are changing their business models from offering products to offering services.
