Facebook in it for the long haul with Oculus and TIP

The internet majors are all developing more hardware, but what about Facebook? In general, the focus in on CPE (customer premises equipment), from smartphones to smart speakers. They're also developing their own chips, as Apple does for its smartphones and Google for data centres).
