German mobile service revenues expected to stabilise in 2014

Tuesday 15 April 2014 | 10:02 CET | Author: Kamiel Albrecht | Background
Mobile service revenues in Germany are expected to stabilise in 2014, as growth in non-voice revenue driven by the maturing LTE market offsets the continued decrease in voice revenues. During 2013, German mobile service revenues fell by 4.2 percent to EUR 19.11 billion, due to a 11.6 percent drop in voice revenues. The decrease in voice revenues was mostly caused by regulatory measures. The 5.6 percent growth in non-voice revenues to EUR 8.95 billion was not enough to offset this. At the same time, the number of SIMs continued to grow, up by 1.8 percent over the year to 115.2 million.
