Growing Wi-Fi usage expected to impact mobile data revenues

Wi-Fi is becoming more and more popular, both among consumers and at operators. According to recent research from the Telecompaper Consumer Panel, the percentage of mobile Wi-Fi users increased to 56 percent of all Dutch mobile users at the end of December 2012. The most important reason for using Wi-Fi was to save on data in the mobile bundle and avoid extra costs. According to other published results, 59 percent of Dutch consumers used public Wi-Fi on a laptop, tablet or especially a smartphone.
