KPN can use excess cash to switch from defense to offense

KPN's third-quarter results were well-received by the market, with the share price up 7 percent in two days to EUR 2.56. The results show a complex picture, with numerous footnotes, the usual negative points and a few positives. The higher share price appears to be mainly due to the results meeting expectations and KPN reiterating its outlook. There was also a small improvement in the overall trends, although it's still a bit early to talk of "stabilisation", something KPN has forecast before the end of 2014. The management is to trying to achieve this by balancing the commercial strategy
