KPN, Vodafone test mobile public transport card

Thursday 3 December 2015 | 13:45 CET | Author: Bart Garvelink | Background
KPN and Vodafone have partnered with public transport operators in the Netherlands to test a mobile payments system. On 30 November they announced the launch of a small-scale public test with a group of customers to use their OV public transport cards loaded on a secure Sim. The trial will run for three months with 200 users. The companies behind the trial said the mobile service signals a new phase for the OV public transport card, but it's not yet definite it will be rolled out nationwide.
