Last week in telecoms: Amazon creates 3rd pillar with MGM, Sony holds investor days, Vimeo IPO

With telecom news thin on the ground in the past week, we devote this edition entirely to video. After a short period of rumours, Amazon confirmed a deal to buy MGM, which should have a big impact on its portfolio (both Prime and the company itself). Sony held a two-day investors event, discussing media the first day and electronics and financial services the second day. IAC went ahead with the spin-off of Vimeo, and the ongoing discussion on movie windows moved forward.
