Last week in telecoms: DT, Orange start rural fibre JVs, BT goes it alone; Q3 reports flag shortages in broadband equipment

Monday 8 November 2021 | 09:29 CET | Author: Corina Schultz | Background
The drive to finance and expand fibre networks featured heavily in the news this week. Other operators are selling assets to support investment such as Telenor in Pakistan, MTN in Nigeria and Colt's data centres around Europe. And finally the latest round of quarterly results show that getting fibre in homes may need more than investment money, as especially the broadband equipment industry suffers from supply chain problems.
