Last week in telecoms: investor interest shifts from KPN to BT, new PON and 6G plans, US bills target big tech break-up

Monday 14 June 2021 | 14:22 CET | Author: Tim Poulus | Background
KPN's share price suffered in the past week, after reports that EQT and Stonepeak abandoned plans for a takeover bid for the Dutch operator. BT's stock did better after Patrick Drahi, the man behind Altice in the US and Europe, said his UK vehicle took a 12 percent stake in the British incumbent. This underlines the continued strong investor interest in fibre. Meanwhile, Denmark's TDC is getting ready for a complete separation of its infrastructure (TDC Net) and services companies (Nuuday) by the end of this year.
