Netflix: the media company with an internet company valuation

Monday 10 December 2018 | 15:18 CET | Author: Tim Poulus | Background
Netflix's share price has fallen over 30 percent from its peak in July. Over the same period, Disney's share price rose by 8 percent, suggesting investors back the company's takeover of Fox and are positive on the planned Disney+ streaming service. The market seems to be viewing Netflix more as an internet company (in line with share price falls at Amazon et al) than a media company, which seems a bit dubious. The latest developments at Netflix suggest the growth is far from over. Its next quarterly results are due out around 21 January.
