Netherlands top 3 operators see revenues fall, but dividends safe as margins improve in Q1

Tuesday 14 May 2019 | 17:36 CET | Author: Tim Poulus | Background
Revenues at the top three operators in the Netherlands - KPN, VodafoneZiggo and T-Mobile - reached EUR 2.79 billion in the first quarter, down 1.9 percent on a year earlier. The collective EBITDA margin improved over the same period to 41.3 percent from 39.9 percent, helped by the new IFRS 16 accounting rules. Capital expenditure dropped slightly to EUR 493 million or 17.7 percent revenues, versus 17.9 percent a year ago. Free cash flow grew as a result, to 23.6 percent of revenues compared to 21.9 percent in Q1 2018.
