Operators need to search for alternatives to offset technology displacement

The Dutch minister for economic affairs Maxime Verhagen has agreed to look at changing the Telecommunications Act after the lower house of parliament called on the government to block mobile operators from charging extra for the use of specific apps. Bruno Braakhuis, an MP for the GroenLinks party, proposed the motion. This would put the principle of net neutrality into law, as was already done in Chile, and make the Netherlands a pioneer in extending the principle to mobile services.
