Passive fixed phone lines more than double in three years

Tuesday 4 November 2014 | 16:39 CET | Author: Kamiel Albrecht | Background
Almost seventy percent (67%) of the Dutch with a fixed line use it regularly. At the same time, the number of passive (receiving calls only) fixed line owners grows from three percent in December 2012 to seven percent in September 2014. The most mentioned reason for having both a fixed line and a mobile phone is that the fixed line is used for in-house calls and mobile phones are used for calls outside, although the percentage dropped from 65 percent in February 2011 to 40 percent in September 2014, according to research from Telecompaper's Consumer Panel.
