Rabobank and KPN pushing for mobile payments in the Netherlands

Friday 22 January 2016 | 10:08 CET | Author: Marion ter Welle | Background
Rabobank and KPN have entered into a partnership to give mobile payments in the Netherlands a boost. KPN postpaid customers with a Rabobank bank account can start using Rabo Wallet from the end of Q1 2016. The wallet provides more than just a payment facility, as the customer can add his loyality cards, opt for local promotions while a parking payment option will be added soon as well. KPN sees an even wider usage for the NFC function, such as using it for public transport, as an entry/door key and even storing a person's ID card.
