More and more pilots and projects in the smart city sphere are being announced each day, but broader smart city implementations are still struggling to get off the ground. At the recent Smart City Event in The Hague, it was clear more local governments are starting to understand the need for multidisciplinary teams and a horizontal approach to move the smart city forward. More co-operation and learning from each other, residents and private companies is also essential.
