Telenet Q2: strong mobile growth needed to meet FY revenue target

Monday 4 August 2014 | 11:54 CET | Author: Tim Poulus | Background
Telenet, the Belgian subsidiary of cable group Liberty Global, reported second-quarter revenue of EUR 422 million, up 3.4 percent from a year earlier. EBITDA rose 0.8 percent to EUR 217 million, while net profit was down 86 percent to EUR 10 million. Capex increased 44 percent to EUR 118 million, leading to 26 percent fall in free cash flow (EBITDA - capex) to EUR 99 million. While revenue growth improved from the 2.8 percent reported in Q1, the results were otherwise weak.
