The major international trade shows underway (Ifa) or coming up (IBC) are generating a number of new product announcements in the TV sector, with over-the-top (OTT) a clear theme. Televisions connected to broadband ('connected TV' of 'smart TV') are becoming increasingly the norm, raising the question: can OTT lead to 'cord cutting' (canceling traditional TV subscriptions)? For operators, this is an important question.
