UPC NL Q2: sales turn lower, profitability in structural decline

Liberty Global announced its results for the second quarter, showing a 2.0 percent annual decline in sales at UPC Netherlands to EUR 232 million. The cost of sales was up 2.0 percent to EUR 72 million, leading to a gross profit of EUR 160 million. The gross margin fell by 1.2 percent points year-on-year to 69.0 percent. EBITDA (operating cash flow) totaled EUR 131 million, and the margin fell to 56.4 percent from 58.8 a year ago.
