Vodafone expands revenue share in German mobile market, Telekom takes more customers

Tuesday 19 July 2016 | 11:29 CET | Author: Corina Schultz, Kamiel Albrecht | Background
The German mobile market contracted for a second consecutive quarter in Q1 2016, losing 1.7 percent of service revenues compared to Q4 2015 and 0.8 percent less year-on-year. All three operators lost revenue on a quarterly basis, in line with the seasonal slowdown, and only Vodafone grew revenue slightly on an annual basis, thanks to its strength in the postpaid market. This helped Vodafone increase its revenue market share by half a percent compared to a year ago, while Telekom Deutschland lost a similar amount over the same period.
