Vodafone, Orange put pressure on Movistar as Spanish market consolidates

The wave of consolidation and intense competition in Spain is changing the dynamics of the mobile market. Market leader Movistar has been steadily losing share to Vodafone and Orange, as the latter two expand in the fixed market in order to capitalise on the growing popularity of convergent offers. The consolidation is driven by the continued erosion in revenues. According to the latest figures from the Telecompaper database, mobile service revenues were still down 11 percent year-on-year in Q3 2014, but for the first time in seven quarters showed quarterly growth of 4 percent.  Vodafone has
