Weekly news summary: big FTTH plans, 3 new 5G networks, a shorter theatrical window, tech platforms under fire

While the past week's news was rich in quarterly reports, there was also some important network news. A number of telcos announced large FTTH roll-outs and three more 5G networks went live. Universal Pictures and AMC also brokered a new deal on movie releases, shortening considerably the theatre window for quicker launches over paid VoD. Meanwhile, the big internet platforms were under fire in Congress for alleged abuse of their dominant market power.
