Weekly news summary: Q3 earnings show rebound, new fibre ventures take shape

Monday 2 November 2020 | 09:24 CET | Author: Corina Schultz | Background
The past week's news was dominated by earnings reports. Most companies showed a bounce back from the weak results of Q2 during the first coronavirus lockdowns. However, with new lockdowns starting around the world, the outlook for Q4 is uncertain. More new 5G networks also started service (Sweden, Croatia), and several fibre joint ventures (Telefonica DE, Proximus) took shape. The big tech companies unloaded their results all on the same day, while testifying to Congress again on plans to reform liability for user-generated content.
