Orange buys Voo, leaving 3 options for Telenet

Orange Belgium has entered exclusive talks with Nethys to acquire control of cable operator Voo. Under the proposal deal, Orange would receive a 75 percent stake, minus one share, at a valuation of EUR 1.8 billion for all of Voo. The takeover would give Orange more of its own infrastructure, which means higher margins but also higher capex. Telenet meanwhile misses out on the change to create a national cable network. We see three alternatives for the fixed market in Belgium to develop.
