TP Notes: Orange Romania becomes FMC player with Telekom takeover as DT prepares exit

What we know: Deutsche Telekom has been in discussions for at least a year on selling the Romanian business, with talks complicated by the Romanian state still holding a large minority stake in the incumbent operator. This is the latest in a string of transactions going back many years in which Orange and Deutsche Telekom sell each other assets to strengthen their respective positions in countries such as France, the Netherlands, Spain and the UK.
